Well now he is 6 months old and full of personality! Little C, or "Lil' C" as his parents call him, was such a good boy. Thank goodness mom and dad were around to coax out the giggles and smiles since he was not impressed with my efforts!

He is clearly adored. As all babies should be!

I have been gone for so long! I am so glad that this family pulled me out of hiding. I was rather stressed about the logistics of doing a session with my babies still being so small but I am so glad I did! I loved it, we had a wonderful time and of course my children were just fine thanks to their dad.

Mom told me during our phone conversations that her boys could live outside if allowed and wanted a location that would reflect their personality. As soon as we arrived they were excited to get exploring.

Notice the stick in hand below, it was a constant companion. :) And yes, they really do like each other.

My shutter speed wasn't quite fast enough but I still love this shot. Classic. I told them to go get their dad.

Again, these boys really do act like this. They were so tender with one another, especially big brother. I hope my kids have a great love for one another as these two do. And hello! The eyes!

And where do you think they get those pretty eyes? Their momma!

Thanks Allison for a wonderful evening, your boys were thoroughly engaging and delightful.

Tragically at the end of the evening we discovered that we could not find Allison's lovely Louis Vitton purse. Here we are out in a random field seemingly alone and her purse goes missing. We canvassed the area til dark, Allison shooed me off home to get back to my kids and they called the police. Yet still, nothing. Someone is walking around with a mighty fine bag, dang it.

One of my best friends Liz with Red Bucket Photography came over today to help me capture my twins. We had a great time managing two babies with the help of my mom and I am so grateful for the images she helped me capture, especially of the ones with me actually in them! Two months have gone by since their birth and I have hardly any pictures of me with them. Well, we fixed that today!

Happy Halloween!

My babies are 7 weeks old now! They were born 8 weeks early and are just shy of their actual due date. Time goes too quickly. Here we are all dressed up for Halloween, purely for our pleasure as they could care less! These pictures were taken quickly since the kids were starving! No patience for their mother, light was fading fast and I was lucky to get these quick shots since I had just finished their onesies as they were waking up, demanding attention and not too happy that I was putting them off. We will have a formal session soon.

This dear friend of mine has been oh so patient waiting for her pictures from her maternity shoot. We got together about 6 weeks ago, I was almost 8 months pregnant with my twins. What a sight! Hard to manuever when we both had big bellies!

I am glad we found time to squeeze this session in, just 2 days later she had her baby boy, 4 weeks early!

Such darling little children! We met at a local park and got lucky with a beautiful June evening, definitely not hot as it should be.

This little one was not a fan of me or my big camera in the beginning. Mom gave me a hint that she likes to play peek-a-boo and tada! Her cute little smile came beaming through. Afterward she even let me take her hand as we went to feed the ducks.

Handsome, no? I told him to sit in the grass so I could get a few of just him, he busted out this GQ pose all on his own. Watch out ladies!

Mom was wise and contacted me early so we were able to get together when this little boy was just a week old. He was so good! Soft, cuddly and easily moldable, just perfect. Aren't all newborns perfection? Mmmmmm, can't wait for my own!

Almost 2 weeks old this little guy was so little! He had no chubs on him and had the cutest little bird legs. I wanted to eat him up! And I did snuggle him close when I got the chance. I attended a light workshop yesterday with Sarah Goodman and she had beautiful models lined up for us to shoot. The light was gorgeous and it was fun to play with different angles and use the light to create.

This gorgeous babe is just over 2 weeks old. At the beginning of the shoot she was awake and starting to discover how far she can stretch making it a bit difficult to get the cozy pictures I wanted. Patience and lots of feeding (finally a bit of formula did the trick) and this little one was blissfully sleeping, allowing me to move her as I pleased. Thanks "A" for letting me spend the afternoon with your sweet family and capture this time for you.

I took off this holiday season and started up again and realized how much I missed it. I love capturing the simple moments that occur between families and then making that image what I saw in my mind; making it better than what I captured in camera, making it come to life with color and light. M wanted pictures for the Christmas card. C does what M says. ;) So we met in the wee hours of the morning while M shivered through the first part of the session.

So happy with this shoot. We had fun but then it's always fun with them.

This first shot is amazing. I love the way she is looking at him, so happy, so much love. 2 years of marriage and plenty more to come.

When this came up on my screen I laughed out loud. This captures their amazing personalities and they just play off each other. Don't worry M, I have some normal smiley ones.

What a fun and crazy night we had. We went to downtown Mesa and as luck would have it there was some festival going on and lots of people. As we walked to various sites we ran into at least 4 or 5 other photographers. Holiday portrait season at it's finest! We managed to navigate and secure some wonderful shots.

Her personality was so fun! She was the perfect little model, striking poses left and right without any prompting. She managed to keep it up throughout the entire evening.

Probably my favorite image from the night. The light was gorgeous and once again, Miss J was workin' it for the camera. Thanks H family for a great night.

His mom just rolled him down a big hill and I love his reaction when he got to the bottom, he thought it was the greatest thing ever!

Session Fees

The session fees below are for time and talent of the photographer, touchups and attention to each image, and a minimum of 30 edited images presented in a private online slideshow. The session fee does not include images, either digital or printed; these are purchased separately.

Family-$200
Up to 4 people, additional members please add $25 per person.

Child-$150
Includes 2 children, additional children please add $25 per child.

Newborn-$250
Session focusing on your newborn or baby, while including parents and siblings to capture the new love. Newborns are best photographed at 10 days and younger.

Availability
Sessions are limited and are scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays. Please contact me to secure your date.

For optimal natural light sessions are usually scheduled one hour after sunrise or one hour before sunset.

What to Wear?
A great and very common question! The short answer is whatever you want. Wear what you are comfortable in, what best makes a statement about who you are.

The long answer: The most important factor to keep in mind is color. I love color and lots of it, especially deep jewel tones. You can mix in wonderful pops of color with a neutral-whether it be denim, khaki, black, etc. Also keep in mind what colors you would like hanging in your home; will you still love it in 20 years?

Layers are a must! This adds visual interest and texture to the images.

Please avoid logos, text and characters on the clothing as they are distracting.

Newborns
The younger the baby, the better ~ preferably 2 weeks or younger. I prefer fresh newborns because they are less likely to be disturbed while sleeping, they are more "pliable" and less likely to have newborn acne which usually flares up around 3 weeks of age.
